Things have been pretty quiet here. We celebrated New Year's Eve with the church youth group at church. We had a night of games, fun, and fellowship. The church secretary, Carla made moose meatballs. They were pretty yummy. She shot and killed a moose in the fall. I guess there is a lottery everyear to see who gets a moose tag (that is permission to hunt a moose). You are only allowed one moose kill in your lifetime. Carla's name was drawn in the lottery, so she got to hunt a moose. I don't think we have ever attended a church where the secretary hunts moose. Yes, we are definitely in northern Idaho. :-) We attend Spirit Lake Baptist Church here which was the church my mom and dad attended. Kim Alexander is our Pastor. He is really a great teacher and a very kind man.
We have had about 8 inches of snow so far, but it has been raining and all our beautiful snow is now dirty brown slush. Cliff the weatherman (my dad LOVED Cliff the weatherman) says that this year we will have less snow, but it will be colder. So far, he is correct.
Today is Sunday and Teddy, Holly, and Lizzy sang in church. They sang "Take My Life and Let it Be". They sang Chris Tomlin's version and it was really a blessing. This was our last Sunday worshipping as a family of 6 for awhile. It was bittersweet.
Holly leaves Tuesday to go back to school. She will not be coming up here for spring break as she is going to Colorado for a Christian leadership conference. We won't see her again until school is out and we return to the southland in May. Teddy leaves next Sunday for school in Illinois. He is going on a mission trip for spring break and then staying in Wheaton for the summer, so we won't see him again until August. It will be difficult saying good-bye to my college kids. We have had such a wonderful Christmas here together.
I better sign off for now. We are going to play a family game.
